All About Señorita L

Hi!

My name is Kerry Litwinski. I am a student at MSU, East Lansing, Michigan. I am a graduate student working in Detroit Public Schools for my year of student teaching.

I have many professional goals that include:

   -  Working on a career in an urban setting with high risk students in a
      middle or high school setting.

   - Completing my Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition or
      Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

   - Coaching volleyball, basketball and/or softball and supporting my
     students to carry on with their knowledge of the game with those who
      will most benefit from it.

   - Start a language or Spanish club if there is not one already in the
     school and teach the cultures in the Spanish language that includes
     food, theater, music, books and films in the language.

  - Being an educator but more-so a mentor to my students and
    someone they will not only respect but trust and be able to rely on in
    any situation.

  - Furthering my knowledge of the Spanish language through traveling,
    conversing and researching throughout my professional career.

Goals Within the Classroom

  - Prepare my students with experiences of being in a culture that is not familiar to them.

  - Give my students the opportunity to learn the language in a setting that does not have much stress or bad perceptions of the language in general.

  - Create a classroom environment that is perfect for my students to learn.

  - Do not teach about the language but rather teach the language. Because of this I plan to teach only using the target language.

¡Hola!Soy Kerry Litwinski.

Estoy una estudiante en MSU, East Lansing, Michigan. Me gradué en Mayo de 2008 y ahora tengo un año de ser una maestra en entrenamiento.

Tengo muchas metas en mi vida profesional que incluyen:

  - Trabajar en una posición urbana con estudiantes que no tienen una gran oportunidad de suceder
    en un escenario de secundario o preparatorio.

  - Completar una maestría en la adquisición de una lengua secundaria o en la enseñada a
    hablantes no nativos de la lengua inglés.

  - Entrenar el voleibol, baloncesto o sofbol y apoyar mis estudiantes de ser entrenadores a otros
     estudiantes o de ser un mentor a niños que los necesitan una guía en sus vidas.

  - Empezar un club de lenguas o de español si no hay uno y enseñar sobre la cultura que incluyen
    comida, teatro, música, libros y películas en la lengua.

  - Ser una maestra y un mentor a mis estudiantes y una persona que ellos pueden dar respeto y
    dar confianza en cualquier situación.

  - Avanzar mi sabiduría de la lengua española con los viajes, platicados con amigos y la
    investigación de la lengua en mi carera profesional. 

Metas dentro de la clase

  - Preparar mis estudiantes con la experiencia de estar en una cultura que no es su propia.

  - Dar mis estudiantes la oportunidad de aprender la lengua en un espacio que no tiene estrés ni
     tiene malas percepciones de la lengua en general.

  - Crear un ambiente en la clase que es perfecto para mis estudiantes a aprender.

  - No enseñar sobre la lengua sino enseñar la lengua y por eso tengo ganas a enseñar totalmente
     en la lengua española.
